Artwork Requirements
We have organised a simple explanation of terms and requirements needed to reproduce your logo successfully.
Electronic Artwork
File Format for reproduction in a PC environment
- Illustrator, Vector, or EPS files
- High Resolution JPEG for CMYK process prints
Artwork including fonts should be “converted to outlines” in Illustrator
Photographic Images:
- High Resolution JPEG for CMYK process prints
PLEASE DO NOT SUPPLY artwork in formats such as MS Word, Powerpoint, doc, bmp, tiff or gif files. Hard copy artwork such as letterheads, business cards or printed brochures cannot be used to reproduce for the branding of most promotional merchandise. In this event the art usually has to be redrawn at an additional cost of $80.00+GST per hour.
NB. PDF files are for viewing purposes only and not suitable for reproduction purposes.
If artwork and images are over 5 megabytes in size and too much to be emailed, they can then be sent to us on CD.
Colours
If the file contains spot colours these should be identified as Pantone PMS numbers from the swatch palette.
Photoshop files should be CMYK and saved in a EPS format. It is important to include all embedded/Photoshop images with Illustrator files.
Artwork Problems? We can help!!!
If you are unable to provide your artwork in the format required for reproduction we may be able to have our Graphic Designer redraw your art in the required format at an additional cost. This service is charged at $80.00+GST per hour or part there of. Speak to us and we can give you a quote on the work needed.
The Branding Process
- Screen Printing - print spot colour and 4 colour process on clothing & bags
- Plastisol Printing - when fine detail and a good image is required on bags or clothing.
- Embroidery - on to cap, clothing or bags. Branding cost increases with the number of stitches. The minimum text height for embroidery is 5mm.
- Decal Printing - coffee mugs and glassware. A spot colour or 4 colour process decal is pre-printed, then fired onto the coffee mug or glass. Costs are specified for one side (half wrap decal) or two sides (full wrap decal).
- Offset Printing - 1-4 colour process printing on mouse mats, plus traditional printing of brochures and point of sale.
- Pad Printing - spot colours on hard products such as golf balls, plastic or metal. Soft products such as stress toys, only one colour is possible because of the difficulty to register the printing.
- Laser Engraving - Fine engraving into metal and some plastic products.
- Embossing – stamped imprint, blind or foil into leather of good quality PU products
